...And a Happy New Year!

Freshair Boutique

Thanks, Merci, Grazie!

IMG_0377.JPG

So here we are again at the end of another year. We made it, we made it out alive! 2019. Done. Just like that. Just as quick as exchanging pleasantries, we begin another year.

2020! Well this upcoming year will be filled with so much more of whatever great things we experienced in 2019. This upcoming year is our 10 year anniversary, and as usual, I am here to say thank you. In my perfect world I would thank each and every individual who spent their hard earned dollars at our shop. I would write a soliloquy about every staff member we shared 2019 with. I would thank all my friends and all my family, one, by one. If only that would be able to give an example of the deep gratitude I feel about team Freshair Boutique and all it’s supporters. If only.

Well personally, 2019 brought so much perspective into my life! I gave birth to a baby, I solo traveled and I pushed my self a little further than I did in 2018. I tried to do just a little more. To be honest, I’m built to never stop. I always seem to have the next thing on the horizon and no matter how hard I really try to slow it all down, I find that I’m not as fulfilled. This is me. Just pushing boundaries wherever I can. I believe it’s my support system that actually fuels me. It’s all of you who care about the little things AND the big things. It’s all of us that show up every day, understanding the real definition of commitment. It’s the simple fact that I am alive. All of that is why I love what I do and all those I share this industry with. Thank you as well.

….And to all a goodnight!

Wowwwweeeeee! Another year in the books! Just like that it’s time for new beginnings, new lists and new goals! 2018 has been a whirlwind of a year for Freshair. We saw some really great stylists move on to new and amazing endeavors, and with them some fantastic clients as well. We will miss you all!

We have added some new stylists to our crew and I’m very excited to see what 2019 brings to them and to our lovely little location here on Academy Road! To all of our loyal clients and new subscribers, THANK YOU! It’s all of you that make this whole gig so much more interesting.

When I was thinking of a way to communicate my gratitude, I couldn’t help but think of all the times we say thank you and say it with very little conviction. We’re taught as young children to always say please and thank you like it’s verbiage necessary for living. And though yes, saying please and thank you is polite, it is now just that. Daily verbiage.

Thank you is almost so watered down that I’m not sure it really does the best job of showing sincere gratitude. When was the last time you said thank you? When was the last time you REALLY thanked someone for something? When was the last time you went out of your way to make a connection with someone who did something really nice to/for you?

What I Am trying to say is much gratefulness and gratitude for all of you that either work at Freshair Boutique or patronize our business. all the best to you and your families and remember that we appreciate you all! Blessings and I hope to see you in the new year!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!

So this weekend is Thanksgiving! What are you doing to show your appreciation to those in your life? We thought, to help you out a bit, we could give you some ideas for topics to discuss during your dinner! What’s acceptable? What’s not? Don’t worry, we got you!

Thanksgiving Dinner Do’s:

  • Do acknowledge any small child at the gathering. Feel free to ask questions about their development to their parents (parents love talking about their kids. you cannot go wrong).

  • Do try to keep your topics on positive type things like, the tasty food and the ingredients used. Example, “Is there turmeric in this? It tastes delicious! Did you know turmeric is the new super-spice..blah, blah, blah….” FYI: turmeric IS the new super-spice. You’re welcome.

  • Do try to listen more than you speak. These days, everyone has something to say and we never really listen. Here’s your chance.

Thanksgiving Dinner Don’ts:

  • Do not bring up Donald Trump. Just don’t do it. Everyone will be in a terrible mood. Also, we’re not American…. Ha! Unless you are!

  • Do not talk about yourself too much. Sure, this may be the only time you hang around this much family but try to keep it simple. No one likes a braggart.

  • Do not get wasted! I repeat, DO NOT GET WASTED. Just get buzzed enough to let your aunties remarks about your current relationship status (single) and your waistline (expanding) slide right off your back. No one likes a lush either….

OK folks! Go forth and be thankful!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful for...DESSERT

Freshair Boutique

I am thankful for all of the treats we can put in our bellies. There’s part of me that would like to say I only indulge on treats like this during holidays and special events…but who am I kidding… why refrain from things that bring you so much joy? That’s just cruel.

These are some of our faves - click the image for the recipe!

The Freshest Ladies DSCN0583The salon has went through, and is going through, changes.  We have expanded, I had a baby, we'll be hiring for two positions... It's been a while since I had posted anything and it's funny how much I missed writing.

IMG_0168There was so much that I thought I would want to say for this first entry back, but I think I just want to thank the ladies I work with.  They have all played a very important role in their own ways during the past two months.

DSCN0580I'm grateful that I work with women who understand the type of business I want to run and they do what they can to enhance the experience for all the clients.  I appreciate each and every one of these ladies and I know that all the goodness and changes that Freshair Boutique has went through wouldn't have been possible without these 7 ladies.

Christie, **Chloe, Amy, **Heather, Andrée, **Tessa and **Olivia, thanks girls!  That's the fresh perspective...

Blah, blah, blah... tumblr_inline_mhrzb6YDWH1qz4rgpIt's official, we are expanding!  If you haven't been in the shop for a while, you should get in here before the summer ends.  We're going to be giving our shop a complete over haul.  It's funny, all I do (apart from making folks look good) is talk, talk, talk.  Sometimes I tell the same story to some clients cause I'm not sure who has heard what yet.  It's crazy.  On a busy day, I probably am talking for at least six hours!!

I find that talking about stuff helps me stay accountable and keeps me on my toes.  It's been so long that we have been talking about expanding and now that we are, I want to shout it from the roof tops!  I know I've been on here thanking everyone for all their support, and this, and that, and what-not, but I really need everyone to know that I am so grateful and happy that we are still around.  I'm so happy that we are still able to give everyone the service and care that we provide whenever our doors are open.

We want to be better and know that there are ways to grow and keep growing, but it's the support from all our family, friends, staff and most importantly the folks that patronize us on a daily basis.  Thanks to you clients that trust us with your hairs, and your colors.  Thanks for trusting our opinions on products.  Thanks for giving us a part of your hard-earned wages.  I know that some of our services and products are on the higher end, but thanks for understanding that phrase, 'you get what you pay for'.  We really want to go to the next level with our new expansion and we want all of you that walk in our shop to experience the new changes with us.

We were good before, but we are going to be better!  Clients: any advice you want to give us?  Please do!  We are here for you, and want you to enjoy yourselves.  I've said enough, I've said it all. Danke...
