HAIR

I did it again! Ok, not me, Niasha this time, but I have new hair! I always wear a sleep cap and use the satin pillowcase when I have fresh hair! As soon as a week passes, I’m just sleeping on all the cotton I can find. It’s like I forget that my hair needs to be covered in order to last. I can’t seem to figure out why I only cover for the first bit. As soon as I see some fuzz, I’m done! Finito! NO MORE CAPS.

sorry bout the lighting but you get it. it’s new and long and blondish…

Which are you? Diligent hair coverer, or like me, wild with the best intentions of protection? I mean, my hair IS in a protective style already right? That’s not enough?

Call 12044149023 (Winnipeg) if you want to make an appointment for single box braids (like I have) or check out our online store if you’re looking for satin pillowcases. Happy Holidays!

FITNESS

I’ve been using the Peloton app for three months now and I am VERY impressed with my results. It’s a wonderful miracle, this thing we call the human body. And it never seizes to amaze me the way that my body has showed up for me time and time again. Through numerous pregnancies and fitness challenges, she has supported me through.

should i get a bike? a peloton?

I have taken a year off running (i’ll be back in june) and I am now seriously considering getting a bike to ease up on my aging knees. The app sparked a new awareness and I think that’s all we need sometimes to jump start our health hopes.

get it!

With a new year around the corner, maybe this is a good time to start a new fitness regimen? Also, maybe not? There are so many ways to stay active and healthy and if working out isn’t for you, look into other options. Life is short.

I can finally do these!

We have survived a third lockdown here in Manitoba! As of June 26th we were allowed to open again for the third time, after a series of mandated government lockdowns. Being closed for almost 6 months is intense, let me tell you. I know that many people struggled to make sense of the way our country was handling the pandemic. Each province had a few different policies but unilaterally, salons were closed.

There are many hairstyles out there, but 6 months without a haircut can create an en entire new look! If you usually wear it real short, then you would have likely taken matters into your own hands! Was that you during the pandemic? Did you just throw your hands up and buy that box colour? Did you attempt to watch a tik tok video and give yourself a shag? At any rate, I’m sure it may have crossed your mind. Well, lucky for Manitobans, we are open!

So if you have cut your own hair, I hope it went well, and if you were able to wait for the shops to reopen, bravo! Here’s to hoping that we never shut down again! 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
