Hi-hi to everyone that cares about our blog! I am back on! Full disclosure, I’m back in school and for some reason, that helps me focus on writing. My classes finish in April so here’s to hoping the posts continue past that! Ha! I make no promises…

As most of you know, new years bring on new goals, challenges and dreams. That’s the same for the shop as well! Since the pandemic, and the changing of our lives, much has shifted. Our goal to have an eco-friendly boutique was stymied by the pandemic and the new and strained shopping habits of absolutely eveyone. Now that we all seem to be back on track, the boutique is as well! We found some new items for all of you to try as well as some new gift ideas and joy bringing jems!

There will be a new skin care line we will be revealing next month for our birthday celebration. We have been on Academy Rd. for 14 years and are honoured to still be a part of this street and it’s surrounding community. Come check us out on the 23rd of February and celebrate 14 years with us!

The Fresh Perspective...

I love hats! What a wonderful way to express oneself! Apart from also be a fashion statement, hats are integral for sun protection. I used to think it would make me hot until I realized how much shade it provided! I also didn’t realize how much sun lightens hair. Did you know that some intense sun exposure is similar to getting a set of highlights? It’s hot!

Anyways, this post is about hats. Enjoy the images whilst thinking about how you will protect your hair this summer season.

Is white alright?

white, cream, off-white?

Spring is close to springing and I am ready for all the bounce! Does anyone know why we are tied to fashion laws? My first guess is that it had something to do with the weather. Rainy seasons aren’t a likely pairing for pastels and linens. Sunny seasons are no place for furs and ponchos so, problem solved? Could that be it?!

In no particular order, here are some of the supposed no-nos of fashion

·      No white till after labor day

·      No white to a wedding

·      No white in the winter

·      No white unless you’re tanned/brown already

·      No white unless it’s June-August

It looks like white is the most special color.  I wonder why?  I decided this year, 2023, that I’m going to wear white whenever I feel like it.  I wore white converses a few weeks (not spring) ago and it felt great.  I mean, my outfit looked good.  I think that the fashion rules are a mild suggestion and we should do as we wish while we still have our abilities.  Long story short, I will wear white any chance I get.  Any color you hold out on till the snow melts?  Let me know, I’d love to hear your choices.  Don’t forget to subscribe!

It's Wednesday!

HAIR

I did it again! Ok, not me, Niasha this time, but I have new hair! I always wear a sleep cap and use the satin pillowcase when I have fresh hair! As soon as a week passes, I’m just sleeping on all the cotton I can find. It’s like I forget that my hair needs to be covered in order to last. I can’t seem to figure out why I only cover for the first bit. As soon as I see some fuzz, I’m done! Finito! NO MORE CAPS.

Which are you? Diligent hair coverer, or like me, wild with the best intentions of protection? I mean, my hair IS in a protective style already right? That’s not enough?
