FEMME FATALE

the power of a woman in a suit.

A suit has always been a fashion favorite of mine. Who says a lady can't rock a suit just as good (if not better) than the man next door. So, why not push the boundaries? By adding some personal flare, whether it be color, patterns, or accessories, you'll surely be turning heads.

This is all about confidence, not cockiness ladies. We can all use a little boost of this once in a while, and there's nothing wrong with having a little help from our wardrobe. Pop by a local thrift store to pick up some key, inspiring pieces. I've been obsessed with my red and white patterned blazer (which looks like grandmother's couch) as of recent. Even by tossing a cutesy little bow tie on, can be the perfect accessory. Often having one-three quality items are the stepping-stones we need to create that one-of-a-kind outfit.

These women prove that a suit CAN be for anyone, and pull it off so effortlessly. All I can say is...

drop. dead. gorgeous.

LUSH LIPS

LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics: lipstick review.

LUSH lipstick in Believe

All I can say is whoa.  My momma conveniently stuffed my stocking with one of LUSH's beautiful lipsticks, by chance, simply because MAC was out of a similar color.  I will admit to being a MAC lipstick fan for years, but over the last few months I have quickly become a LUSH supporter.  For more reasons than one.

My new go-to color: Charm by LUSH. All thanks to a stocking stuffer at Christmas time from my momma.

They have thirteen highly pigmented colors to suit all your moods.  Not only does a little go a long way with this product, but it contains 3 incredible ingredients to soften up those lips all at the same time.  Organic jojoba oil, candelilla and rose wax, are the perfect blend to help prevent dry, flaking bits.  Who wants to plant a kiss on a set of scaly lips?  I know I sure wouldn't!

lush lipsticks

Not only is the packaging cute with an easy applicator, but the names are irresistible.  They come with full dictionary definition, quick color descriptions, ingredient list, as well customer reviews on the company's website www.lush.ca.

If you want to see another great review from a blogger, you should visit www.tagadianescosmeticdrawer.wordpress.com.  How good does this color look on her? Wowza.

A perfect orange-red lip for any night out.

magic monday - oscar edition

OSCARS 2013. On a night when the entire world is tuning in to see who wore what, and who won what, I'm nestled on my couch streaming red carpet footage. As I sit cozied up here watching Sally Field barely tolerate the red carpet interviewer, I cannot help but recall what I find to be the most memorable looks from Oscars past. Here's my roundup:

I love Michelle Williams' bold yellow Vera Wang. Paired with the crimson lip and soft swept hair, I couldn't help but lady-swoon.

Quvenzhané Wallis, of Beasts of the Southern Wild. If you've made the tragic mistake of not seeing this film yet, you must RUN VERY VERY FAST to your computer/television set equipped with movie renting magic/local theatre. You'll be able to finish reading this blog post once you've finished crying/dreaming of running through the bayou with Hushpuppy.

I promise.

Meryl Streep. Can we pause for a moment, and marvel at this woman? So heavenly and age-appropriate. At all times. If you haven't yet seen the diptych of her in 1979/2009, please do so immediately.

Let it be known that Cher was 39/40 in these photos. I'm 26 and could definitely not pull either of these looks off. If I could, I would. Kudos to you Cher. Kudos.

The late 90's were a painful time for fashion. In the era of his and hers denim ensembles, Celine went for broke with this bizarre backwards suit. Even 14 years later I STILL cannot quite figure out what's going on.

Back to reality with Cate Blanchett in Givenchy, 2011. I'm still dreaming of the neon pop against beautiful soft purple.

No 'memorable' Oscar roundup is complete without Bjork's infamous swan dress.

Jessica Chastain was incredible in a Mcqueen gown last year. Again, the simple, soft hair paired with a bold, but classic gown.
