the ramblings of a chronic over thinker

'“gratitude, when practiced daily, can change your life.”
ahhh, thank you so much!
jess simms, a peloton trainer, had started saying that phrase at the end of her workouts and it really impressed me. it’s an interesting way to feel, but being grateful, wow. i am so grateful. i do complain, and sometimes wonder why bad things happen to me. but all in all, when i step back and give myself some space, the gratitude comes.
those that know me well, know that i always aim to strive for more. i always want to be better. i know that i do not know everything and i do not always come correct. but, with time, i find that things become clear and i have the ability to be grateful. the last time i wrote here, i sensed that folks were feeling that i was down and out. acceptance doesn’t mean giving up or quitting. it means, i see ‘the move’ and i respond with ‘my move’. yes, the shop is struggling in the wake of the pandemic and the new world we are daily traversing. yes, i have accepted that this is the new way. now we make space for something new and exciting. dare i say better?
ahhh, thank you so much!
with thanksgiving around the corner, i guess this post is quite timely. in october we focus on gratitude, but we should do it daily. we should practice saying thank you as many times as we can. we should practice gratitude everyday, in the smallest ways and the largest ways. yes, i was feeling the weight of my 46 years of living in august when i wrote about acceptance, and now, i look back at that entry and i am grateful that i could share that insight. i’m grateful for this platform (even though i heard blogs are out) because i can openly spew my ramblings and i know somewhere, out there, someone may relate.
how are you practicing being grateful? have you ever tried gratitude? this week, today even, try being grateful and express it openly. if you can keep it up for a week, i promise, you’ll feel different about yourself and those you surround yourself with. it can change your life. it really can.
