One of those days...

freshairboutique

Looks like I'm a bit behind today.  I meant to post this morning but between Kindermusik and the Passport office I lost track of time.  Yesterday was mother's day and so it was relaxing and restful.  I just moved through the day with slowness and ease.  The weather was lovely and I felt so great.

Today though, I feel like I'm still moving so slow even though there's a tonne to do.  Half the day is gone and I still need to get groceries, make dinner, make all the beds and finish off my laundry...  But I've been laying here for far too long pretending that all the aforementioned duties are completed.  I want to be sun tanning...

Living...

Monday, Monday, the beginning of the week for most.  Here we go again...

My brother moved to Montreal last week and has only been gone for less than a week and it's so strange how much I miss him even though I didn't see him everyday.

He lived just down the street and we would meet once a week at least.  I knew where he was and I knew what he was doing mostly, and now...

I'm so happy that he has taken this opportunity to try something new and relocate himself and his life to another place.  He will be learning how to speak french (I'm envious but I am hoping he can be my pseudo teacher) playing music, and doing a lot of writing.

Life is something you can only experience when you breathe.  It's the one intrinsic thing that separates us from the dead. Inhale, exhale.

So I was chatting with a client during a haircut and we got onto the topic of 'hair changes'. I may have come on too strong in the past couple of posts about trying new things with your hair and changing, changing, changing...

What if your hairstyle is best for you already? What if you have a cut and shape that works with  your hair type, lifestyle and personal style? What if everyone always tells you how great your hair is? It's official, if you're a change-a-holic keep it up.  If you have found the best style for you and your hair type then maybe don't change.  There are other ways to change-up your hairs... Maybe color? Maybe your changes need not be hair related.

I guess I'm just trying to clarify my older posts... If you like to change things up then do so.  If you feel like you have your hair game on lock down then maybe the changes you seek are not even hair related.  That's all, that's the fresh perspective...

This poll is not related at all to this post. I was just curious to see how many candy lovers were out there...

Smooth Criminal...

With the last 'wordless wednesday' post, I touched on a lady hair trend for 2012.  For the boys, this season is smooth, styled hair.  You'll probably need a blow dryer and a brush to achieve this look but it literally takes two minutes.

First, you need to get your hair cut properly.  It's nice and short on the sides and back, and longer on the top to get the smooth look.  It'll be a good idea to ask your stylist if you have enough hair to attain this look...

Boys, I'm on your side!

When was the last time you changed your hair?  When was the last time you looked in the mirror and were pleasantly surprised?  Yesterday, I gave the 'big-chop' to two clients.  Two other clients (who sat in other chairs) also changed their hairs drastically.  It was a day of big changes and we felt like everyone enjoyed themselves.

Of course there were a few, "Oh it'll be so different when I wash it", or some "Wow, it'll be fun getting used to..." peppered through our day but it was so nice to see people out there changing it up.  Keagan, Karen, Noreen and Patricia this post was for you guys!

Keep up the good work! The best is yet to come! That's the fresh perspective...

By the way, if you're on instagram so are we! Noreen and Karen let us document their 'big-chops', give us a follow and maybe get grammed one day!

So the changes, as you can see, have finally happened.  Instead of posting about product today, I'd like to write about good old change... Again...  I feel like this topic is one that I will always have time to chat about.  Maybe it's cause I'm a hairstylist.  Maybe it's cause I like change.  Who knows...  What I know is that life is too short for us to be stagnant and not grow.

Change happens in our lives every year starting with our birth dates.  We get older every year, we make goals, we cross milestones...  We do it without even realizing sometimes and then other times? Nope. Nada. Not gonna change, no way, not ever!

When changes don't benefit us we aren't interested.  When we are the sole beneficiary of a big change it's funny how quickly we can do it.  Getting married? Grow your hair out for six months so you can have the up-do of your dreams.  Just like that you can decide to make a change.

This site was a long time coming and I worked very hard on it.  I found it difficult to accept that I had to make a change in my life and learn how to build a site on my own.  I am not tech savvy and would rather pay someone to do it but as new business go money is short.  Praise made a decision and got to work.   Thanks again to all who helped me out!  That's the fresh perspective...
