So, what do you think?

freshairboutique

We are finished with our website! Whoo-hoo! This was definitely a work in progress but thanks to everyone that was involved.  This couldn't have happened without you guys! Also, a special thanks to Emmanuel.  Thank you!

So the blog is still the same just less of a cartoony look and the site and blog are also one.  Browse around and check things out, we're just tying up some loose ends...  Comments can only be posted on the blog (freshfood) and we would love to hear what you think!

S.W.O.T. Analysis

freshairboutique

Had an okay weekend... I went to a Management course yesterday and got a better understanding of what it really takes to run a successful salon.  I just want to say thanks to everyone who has been a part of my dream.  The fact that I can say that I am a Salon Owner is just.  Amazing to me.  I can honestly say that I never take for granted  how lucky I am to be living my dream (thanks Freshair gals...). Today really showed me how clear my vision is for my business.  The hours spent, helped me to understand that I need to spend more hours working on myself in order to help the business grow. Now, I know that there are a few things that I believe in that may not fall under the perfect scope of business, but I am willing to listen and try my best to understand how things really need to be done in order to have  a successful business.  Staff is key because I'm only as good as the folks around me but what is even more important is me.  I need to be a better leader and I need to really understand the art of leading by example and taking initiative.

Just did the analysis again yesterday and I think that it's something that I will be re-visiting from time to time.

Peace

the fresh perspective...

How often do you wash your hair?  I'm sure for most the answer is a few times a week, and for others, it's everyday.  How many issues do you have with your hairs? Are you absolutely happy with the way it looks, feels, smells?  Can you rattle off three things  right now that you can say you love about your hair?  If you're not too pumped with your hair or your hair style there may be a few things that you can do to help yourself out.  Of course the first (and most obvious to me) is to start a conversation with your stylist and see what he/she recommends.

The second thing? Just wash less. Simple pimple...  For those of you that have achieved ultimate hair bliss for now, disregard...  For you daily washers?  You gotta just try.  Slowing your hair washing can do wonders for you hair and it's longevity and condition.  I understand those of you who are very active and feel the need to clean your hair of any sweat and grime, but the sweat and grime may only need a rinse.  Rinsing everyday is better than adding shampoo everyday and even if you switch to every other day to start you will notice a difference in time.

Have an issue with the grease build up?  Your hair may be producing so much oils because it's being washed off daily.  If you let your natural oils come in over time the state of grease in your hair will spread out.  If you feel like you're in between washes and your hair is super greasy there are many types of products to mask the greasiness.  Also, you can pin parts of it up and/or wear a hat.  Just a few options...

Like I said, before you start any type of new hair regime talk it over with your stylist and ask him/her if maybe slowing down your washing might help a bit.  That's the fresh perspective...

so what had happened was...

What a whirlwind of a weekend.  It came, it went.  It's March and I can't believe all that I have lined up for this summer already...  My spring kicks off with my sister-in-law's wedding social and all the sweet wedding functions a maid of honor has to prepare and be involved in through the summer.  My first-born is having her third birthday in May, there are talks of a kid party...yikes... There's a family road trip and folk fest (plus all the other Winnipeg festivals and wedding stuff) peppered in throughout the summer. I feel like this is a re-occurring topic, 'where does the time go?'. Before I know it, I'll be posting in September about how great my summer was.  It's crazy, but I love it.

Here's to life!  L'chaim!

...and the Oscar goes to...

freshairboutique

Watched a bit of the Academy Awards last night and was mildly entertained...  Got me to thinking of all the Oscars I've watched and what stood out to me.  The Adrien Brody/Halle Berry kiss,  James Cameron losing best picture to his ex, Halle Berry being the first black woman to win an Academy Award... I could go on. Instead I thought I would post a few images of memorable Oscar dresses and hairstyles.  From the images I have chosen it's not to hard to tell... I like things simple, classic and appropriate.  Enjoy!

the fresh perspective...

I went for a late dinner with some old friends last night and what a great night.  Almost felt like a teeny tiny re-charge.  Just talking out our life concerns, wishes, hopes and confusions over amazing food felt like I had my battery re-charged.  We covered so many topics and had each other hanging on our own words.  Each one of us had a chance to tell their current story and yet as different as the stories were, they somehow bridged the time we had missed in each others lives.  The three of us have very different lives and lifestyles but we managed to take the time to get together and pump each other up a bit.   Just a little poem-

Old/New Life

The conversations are sometimes muddled,

For we all speak in excitement.

Desperately trying to learn each other again in the short time spent.

Real friendships almost never have an end.

Well, that's the fresh perspective...  Until we meet again.
